Is Your Heart Full Of Thanks?

In the month leading into Thanksgiving, having a heart of thankfulness is on our minds. But we should be thankful all year long?

There are so many things we take for granted.

Here’s a beginning to my list!

1-my children’s good health when there are children dying of cancer and other diseases

2-the love of my husband, and the little ways he makes me feel special

3-a warm cup of coffee on a rainy day, and a good book

4-the opportunity to home school my children, and all the time I’m allowed to spend with them

5-clean running water to drink, wash clothes, dishes, and ourselves and more than enough!

6-my husband’s job when so many don’t have one

7-my home and everything about it and even more grateful because my husband’s parents have just lost their home to a fire

8-my ability to read and write

9-a great big family (too numerous to count) who loves me

10-children who obey me (most of the time)

11-hugs from my children every morning and even more hugs and kisses throughout the day

12-God’s unconditional love for me

13-the freedom to study God’s word and praise him in public

14-two very athletic boys and a daughter who sings and dances like an angel

15-a church family that loves and supports me

16-the opportunity to have watched my oldest son help coach his brother’s little league baseball team
17-God's Holy word, and the hidden treasures He reveals (sometimes in a verse I've read many times before)
18-the sound of my children's laughter
19-that all three of my children have accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior

What are you thankful for? I’d be so thankful for your replies! J

We are here for such a time as this!

WE ARE HERE FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!

I’ve never delved into politics, unlike others. The last four years I have become more interested in what’s going on in the world around us. It’s a scary time, some might say…And I agree. But “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim. 1:7)

How did the President get reelected? We as a Christian nation have turned our backs on God.

Some say America is doomed now that we have to endure four more years with President Obama leading our country. I say we are blessed. God has placed us here at this very time. We have been given the opportunity to witness firsthand the staging of events that precede the coming of our living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

But what will you do? Will you sit back and let fear overcome you about what’s going to happen to our nation, or will you pray for our President and the leaders surrounding him, that their hearts will be changed? God can do this if we earnestly pray and seek him. Will you expect everyone around you to do all the work, or will you be a witness to all nations and your neighbors and friends. The time is drawing near?

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Col 3:2

Posting my writing on this blog has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But God has called me to write, even if no one reads what I’ve written. If you’ve stopped by please let me know. And thank you for taking two minutes out of your day, to read what God placed on my heart.

Thanksgiving is drawing near, and I want to thank Jesus that he placed me in a home where I learned about the one and only God of the universe, instead of a home where I’d be forced to worship other god’s.

Take advantage of your heritage. Praise God for his blessings on us, and share Him with others who so desperately need Him. This is what we were called to do as heirs of God.

I heard an amazing speaker, Christine Caine, at the Women of Faith conference last month. From her very words I hope to do exactly this!

I want to make Satan sorry he ever messed with Cindy Patterson.
